From Cllr Peter Schwier, ECC

The Explore Essex magazine highlights seasonal activities in Essex Country Parks and green spaces and showcases elements of our heritage and culture. Articles are aimed at inspiring and encouraging residents to ‘Explore Essex’ through activities, events, projects and listings. The magazine is as always, a truly collaborative effort with contributions from the Essex Fostering Service, the Essex Climate Action Commission and Visit Essex members.

As well as containing lots of ideas for day’s out, this issue celebrates the 25th anniversary of the children’s classic, The Gruffalo. It also features how projects supported by the Arts and Cultural Fund have helped people age well, how you can research your family tree courtesy of the Essex Record Office, get active with Essex Outdoors, the great environmental work taking place at Belhus Woods Country Park and in our parks and green spaces and much more.

The printed version of Essex Explorer is free and will be available ahead of the May half term in the largest libraries throughout the county as well as the Culture, Heritage and Green Spaces sites including the Essex Country Parks and several partner sites and attractions.

The digital edition can be downloaded here: www.explore-essex.com/culture/essex-explorer

I hope you enjoy reading the Essex Explorer magazine as I believe that it is a fantastic publication which showcases and promotes some of the best that our wonderful county has to offer.
