Report of the meeting of the Parish Council of Castle
Hedingham held on Wednesday, 17th September 2008 issued by the Clerk
Youths congregating at Scout hut
- It was reported that youths are congregating by the Scout Hut with
cars and motorbikes which are also being ridden in the adjoining
field. The landowner will be contacted and the police informed.
Highways
- It was reported that there had been a number of incidents of poor
driving standards and speeding on the Sudbury Road coming into Castle
Hedingham – PC McMasters has asked to be notified of details (including
registration numbers); he will then contact the drivers and take
appropriate action. Following recent traffic monitoring of lorries
coming through the village the problem appears to be no worse but
parishioners are asked to complete a form (available from Parish Clerk)
or contact PC McMasters with details of any lorries over 7.5
tonnes using the village as a short cut.

telephone box but it should be noted the service of the phone box is
being withdrawn.
Kissing gates, Scotch Pasture Grove - The new kissing gates are to be installed on 29th and 30th September.

The repair has been completed to an excellent standard and has
come in under budget. Part of the saving will go towards

This has been delivered to every household in the parish. There
are some additional copies of this booklet, which shows the wonderful
heritage of our village, and these may be purchased from the

Memorial Hall Window
- The Parish Council are pleased to announce that they have been
successful in obtaining a grant from Halstead Local Committee which,
together with a generous private donation, should enable the work on
the Memorial Hall Window to commence. It is hoped the project
will be complete by the end of the year.

- Under the local “Tree Initiative” the Parish Council are requesting
an additional 50 trees for use in enhancing the village landscape.
Recreation Grounds - Posts and chains will be put in place across the entrance to discourage unsuitable use.

for an additional number of Police Officers over the next 6
years. Our division will be enhanced by 22 officers with an
additional two for Great Yeldham.

now negotiated that these passes may be used from 9.a.m. until midnight
(not applicable to National Express)

collection day. The Parish Council request that the collection schedule
is adhered to and enable us to retain the overall look and
cleanliness of our village
Jim Moore memorial -

to the Memorial Hall as a memorial for Mr. Jim Moore
