Please note - Full minutes of this meeting are also available (requires a pdf reader, such as Foxit or Adobe Reader)
Highway Matters - The Parish Council is to continue with the clearance of vegetation from pavements at various locations in the village.
Parish Footpath Maps - Footpath maps for Sible Hedingham and Castle Hedingham have been reprinted and copies are available from the respective parish clerks.
Phone Box in St James Street - The Parish Council has proceeded with adoption of the box from BT. The box will then be used by a community group based at the Bell public house. It intends to fully refurbish the box in its original livery and make use of the box as a tourist information box.
Planning - The Parish Council has been asked by Braintree District Council for its comments on development of the District Council planning site allocations. The Parish Council has not identified any land for allocation as new open market residential or other uses development. It also considers that the status of the two open spaces on Sudbury Hill and Church Lane should be fully maintained.
National Grid, Bramford to Twinstead Project - The Parish Council continues to actively oppose National Grid’s plans for pylons. The Parish Council is particularly concerned that two out of three possible sites for a sub-station are located in the village. A sub-station would have an extremely negative impact. Undergrounding of all the line would remove the requirement for pylons and also the need for a sub-station and the Parish Council therefore supports this option.
Next Meeting - Parish Council at 7.45 p.m., 14 November 2011, at the Memorial Hall.
