Castle Hedingham Parish Council & Burial Board is responsible for overseeing and maintaining the closed churchyard at St Nicholas Church, as well as administration and maintenance of the Cemetery at Sheepcot Road.

The Burial Board is responsible for maintaining the Cemetery to a standard which meets the needs of all visitors, and so has respectfully issued this reminder about maintenance and upkeep of graves and ashes plots.
There has been a marked increase in the use of artificial flowers, ornaments and other items which are not permitted under the terms of the cemetery regulations. Out of respect for mourners and loved ones, the Parish Council tries not to enforce regulations too rigidly, but in the interests of all cemetery visitors the Burial Board reserves the right to remove any unauthorised items from graves and ashes plots, together with any dead vegetation.
Please also note that in order to maintain the lawn of the cemetery in good condition, any items on the turfed areas of the cemetery may be removed.
