Big Care Debate launched

Nov 5, 2013

Everyone interested in keeping well and living independently is invited to the local Big Care Debate events. We want to hear from you about what services work well and how we can change health and social care services to provide care that is affordable, safe and suitable for our needs.
Please come along to one of our main Big Care Debate public events, one in Colchester on Tuesday 12 November at 6.30pm and one in Clacton on Thursday 14 November at 2pm - an open invitation to residents and people who work in north east Essex to help design the future of services with the local NHS and Social Care commissioners.

Dr Shane Gordon, Chief Clinical Officer at NE Essex Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) said:
“Taking up NHS England’s Call to Action, North East Essex CCG has launched its own Big Care Debate. We want to get views and ideas from individuals, groups and organisations about how to meet the challenge of providing high quality services within constrained resources.
The CCG wants to involve everyone in north east Essex in the debate. We all know the population is increasing, peoples’ needs for health care is increasing, but the budget in these difficult financial times is constrained – so our debate is about how we can change services to provide care that is affordable, safe and suitable for our needs. “How can your local NHS and social care support you and yours to keep in the best of health?" So please tell us how you are doing in keeping well at the moment; how would you like to keep well; what services would best support you and what is most important to you about how you are able to keep well and stay living independently? We invite you to join us because your contribution, support, encouragement and challenge is vital to getting health and social care right for all of us.”

Tuesday 12 November 6.30 pm at Colchester United Weston Homes football stadium, United Way, Colchester CO5 4UP. Free parking. Please let us know if you need help with transport. Event will end before 9.30pm.
Thursday 14 November 2pm at The Princes Theatre, Town Hall, Station Road, Clacton on Sea CO15 1SE . Event will end before 5pm.
These events are all about asking for your experience, your priorities and your views.
